The MI Community, Home, & Health Ombudsman is the new home for the MI Health Link Ombudsman (MHLO). We serve as an advocate and problem-solver for people enrolled in Michigan's MI Coordinated Health program (formerly called MI Health Link until 1/1/2026). All of our services are free and we keep all information confidential.

Why Contact Us?

  1. Service Issues Trouble or delay with your MI Coordinated Health plan (formerly called MI Health Link) providing medical care, services, equipment, other benefits, or with the quality of care.
  2. Information We can help you learn about MI Coordinated Health and options for care in the community, including your rights.
  3. Denial of Care If your MI Coordinated Health plan has denied medical care, services, equipment, or other benefits - including help with appeals. 

THe MI Community, Home, & Health Ombudsman can answer your questions about the state's MI Coordinated Health program (formerly known as MI Health Link). We can help solve problems with care, services, and benefits, and connect you with other resources. We can also help with complaints and appeals, including helping file an appeal. 

We also work with health plans, Pre-Paid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHPs) that offer behavioral health services, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the federal government to spot issues, identify best practices, and offer solutions that will help make the MI Coordinated Health program work better for people in the program.
