Empowering People in MI Health Link
The MI Health Link Ombudsman (MHLO) serves as an advocate and problem-solver for people enrolled in Michigan's MI Health Link program. All of our services are free and we keep all information confidential.
Why Contact MHLO?
- Service Issues Trouble or delay with your MI Health Link plan providing medical care, services, equipment, other benefits, or with the quality of care.
- Information We help you learn about MI Health Link and options for care in the community, including your rights.
- Denial of Care If your MI Health Link plan has denied medical care, services, equipment, or other benefits - including help with appeals.
MHLO can answer your questions about the state's MI Health Link program. We can help solve problems with care, services, and benefits, and connect you with other resources. MHLO can also help with complaints and appeals, including helping file an appeal.
We also work with health plans, Pre-Paid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHPs) that offer behavioral health services, the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and the federal government to spot issues, identify best practices, and offer solutions that will help make the MI Health Link program work better for people in the program.
