Michigan Medicare and Medicaid Assistance Program (MMAP)
MMAP provides free access to unbiased information about health benefits and options, along with counseling for beneficiaries. MMAP is an excellent resource to help you pick which health plan may be right for you and to explain the benefits offered by Medicaid and Medicare. MMAP counselors can also help determine whether your doctor is participating in your MHL health plan or whether your prescription is covered by your plan. MMAP counselors are available Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM ET and can be reached at 1-800-803-7174.
If you wish to enroll in, change plans, or disenroll from MI Health Link, you should contact Michigan ENROLLS. The Michigan ENROLLS call center is open Monday through Friday 8 AM-7 PM ET. Individuals can contact Michigan ENROLLS toll-free at 1-800-975-7630. TTY users may call 1-888-263-5897.
Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman Program
The Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman Program (MTLCOP) advocates for residents who live in nursing homes, homes for the aged, and adult foster care facilities. MLTCOP works with residents on quality of care, quality of life, and residents' rights issues. Although MLTCOP is a different program from the MI Health Link Ombudsman program, we work closely together and coordinate our services. To contact a local MLTCOP Ombudsman in your area, please call 1-866-485-9393.
Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS)
The MDHHS MI Health Link website has many excellent resources for beneficiaries, including videos, frequently asked questions and a wide range of other materials. The MI Health Link Resources Toolkit has a wealth of information on specific MI Health Link topics and issues.
Medicare staff can answer questions about Medicare enrollment and coverage. Medicare can be reached at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227). TTY users can call 1-877-486-2048.
