Welcome to the MICPOP

Body:

The MI Choice, CTS and PACE Ombudsman Program (MICPOP) educates, supports and advocates on behalf of participants of the MI Choice, Community Transition Services and PACE to ensure participants receive the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) they are entitled to under these programs as well as to protect a participant’s rights.

MICPOP Advocates work directly with participants via in person meetings, telephone and/or video teleconferencing in order to properly understand the issues facing the participant and to assist in resolving their problems. In addition, MICPOP Advocates use their knowledge and experience to educate policy makers and promote improvements within the HCBS system.

MICPOP serves the ENTIRE state of Michigan. MICPOP is a project of the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative and our partners at the Counsel and Advocacy Law Line, two free legal services programs for low income Michiganians.

There are NO FEES OR COSTS to applicants, participants or families for utilizing MICPOP services. MICPOP is supported by the Michigan Health Endowment Fund.
