Help with Home and Community Based Services

The MI Choice, Community Transition Services (CTS), and PACE Ombudsman Program (MICPOP) educates, supports, and advocates on behalf of participants in the MI Choice waiver, CTS, and PACE programs. We also help people applying to those programs.

MICPOP works to ensure participants receive the Home and Community Based Services (HCBS) they are entitled to under these programs as well as to protect a participant’s rights.

Why Contact MICPOP?

  1. Service Issues Trouble or delay in obtaining medical care, services, equipment other benefits or quality of care.
  2. Information We help you learn about MI Choice, CTS or PACE and options for care in the community, including your rights.
  3. Denial of Care If you've been denied medical care, services, equipment, or other benefits - including help with appeals.

MICPOP serves the entire state of Michigan. There are zero fees or costs to applicants, participants or families for using MICPOP services.

In addition to our work with individuals, MICPOP advocates also use their knowledge and experience to educate policymakers and promote improvements within the HCBS system.

MICPOP is a project of the Michigan Elder Justice Initiative and our partners at the Counsel and Advovacy Law Line, two free legal services programs for low income Michiganians.
