Salli Pung Quoted in WXYZ Coverage of the Death of a Resident in Frigid Conditions Outside of an Assisted Living Facility
The 88 year old Brownstown Township resident was found outside Forest View Assisted Living, a residential facility that had been cited for problems in the past. The resident appeared to have been outside the home for a considerable period of time and was not dressed appropriately for the cold weather. Michigan Long Term Care Ombudsman Salli Pung, noting the tragic loss of life, remarked that assisted living facilities are supposed to be able to monitor residents, especially those with cognitive challenges, to maintain their safety.
