Staff Attorney

POSITION: The Michigan Elder Justice Initiative (MEJI), a project of Michigan Statewide Advocacy Services (MSAS), is seeking an attorney with a demonstrated commitment to public interest advocacy to serve as a Staff Attorney in our new Home and Community Based Services Ombudsman Program. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM: MEJI seeks to empower, educate, and protect low income older adults and people with disabilities through administrative and policy advocacy, litigation, educational efforts, and collaboration with multi-disciplinary partners. MEJI focuses on issues of particular concern to vulnerable older adults and people with disabilities including long term care, access to health care, public benefits, guardianship and individual rights, and elder abuse.
