Essential health care coverage, such as Medical Assistance or Medicaid, is available to those who otherwise cannot afford it. Michigan has many health care programs available to children, families and adults who meet eligibility requirements. Each program has income limits and some have an asset limit - limits vary with each program. MDHHS has a general overview of the program and options here.
Applying for assistance can be done online or through a county office of MDHHS. Information on your rights and responsiblities as well as links to other assistance programs can be found here.
MDHHS has a Medicaid Provider Manual which is constantly updated with new policies and policy guidance. This manual as well as proposed policy can be accessed here.
