The Medicaid program in Michigan - which provides health insurance for low income individuals - is administered by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS).

MDHHS has many health care programs available for children, families and adults who meet eligibility requirements. Income and asset limits vary for different programs. To find out more about the programs, see MDHHS's general overview of programs and options here.

You can apply for health care and benefits online or at a county office of MDHHS.  Information on your rights and responsibilities as well as links to other assistance programs can be found here.

MDHHS has a Medicaid Provider Manual which is constantly updated with new policies and policy guidance.  This manual, as well as proposed policy, can be accessed here.
