MEJI is pleased that our work identifying issues of concern in the state's Level of Care Determination (LOCD) process has encouraged the state to engage a wide array of stakeholders to begin a detailed review and likely reform of LOCD policy.  The LOCD process is the process through which it is determined if Medicaid beneficiaries are eligible for Medicaid-funded nursing home care, home and community-based services through MI Choice, or PACE (the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly).  We will continue to work closely with Medicaid policy staff as they pursue this important effort.  MEJI has also been pleased to assist a number of individual consumers who have been improperly denied access to Medicaid-funded long term care because of problems in the LOCD process.
